To the style of “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding
Sittin’ on the dock of the lake,
Watching the waves coming from the wakes.
Got the sun shining down on me,
It’s so nice to be carefree,
Wastin’ time.
Little ducklings come from the reeds,
Looking for sweet, sweet green peas.
Got the blue gills nibble at my toes
And the turtles come and go,
Roaming on.
Water laps upon the shore,
A calming song like age old lore.
What a day to finally relax,
Knowing the sun has got my back.
With everything to live for
It’s coming my way.
Let the sun lead me to brighter days!
But for now, I’m sitting on the dock of the lake.
Watching the waves roll in from the wakes.
Wastin’ time.
